Kids and Teens 519 Global Outreach Policies

Important Information About Trip Prices

Airline Deposit
Your non-refundable deposit of $250 must be paid at the time of your application. This will guarantee space on the airline and allow Kids & Teens 519 Global Outreach action to negotiate the lowest possible airfare. If your deposit is not included with your application, your application cannot be processed. There are no exceptions to this policy____(STTM initials).

Final Payment for the Outreach
The balance of the trip price is due to Kids & Teens 519 Global Outreach 30 days prior to departure. Three-quarters of the total trip price is due to Kids & Teens 519 Global Outreach 60 days before departure; the total trip cost must be turned in to Kids & Teens 519 Global Outreach 30 days prior to leaving. Kids & Teens 519 Global Outreach faces financial deadlines from airlines, hotels, and national Christian leaders. No one will be allowed to participate if full payment has not been received 30 days prior to departure____(STTM initials).

Cancellation Policy
Should you commit to an outreach and then decide not to go, cancellation penalties will apply. In many cases, these penalties are imposed by the airline industry, not Kids & Teens 519 Global Outreach. Your deposit is non-refundable in all cases. Due to IRS stipulations, contributions are non-refundable in the event of cancellations. Any money remaining following the deduction of airline costs and administrative fees 10% of the overall trip cost i.e. if the trip cost is $2400 then the administrative fee would be $240 and $250 for the deposit a total of $490 ___(STTM initials), but can be held over for one calendar year to be used toward another Kids & Teens 519 Global outreach, camp or short term trip.

Trip prices are based on flights departing from a limited number of cities within the Western, Central, and Eastern United States. Actual departure cities will vary according to the carrier company's flight schedules and routes. While Kids & Teens 519 Global Outreach endeavors to maintain the quoted prices, add-on flights may be necessary_____ (STTM initials). Central United States
Dallas, Houston, Chicago, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Memphis.
Eastern United States
Miami, New York, Boston, Washington DC/Baltimore, Atlanta, Charlotte, Orlando.



To All Trip Participants

Kids & Teens 519 Global Outreach team trips are for the ministry of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His Church. Sightseeing and shopping will be permitted only if they coincide with the team's main purpose, and these may be canceled if they are not deemed convenient due to travel considerations, inadequate time or if they would hinder ministry.

Trip costs are based on fall 2010-11 prices and are subject to change.

The IRS stipulates that all application fees and contributions are non-refundable. Therefore, all donations received by Kids & Teens 519 Global Outreach go toward other projects and administrative expenses____(STTM initials).

To receive a tax deduction, the IRS stipulates that the donor must release control of the money donated to the not-for-profit organization. For this reason, money cannot be refunded and cannot be designated to a person. The individual will be a fund-raiser and will get credit for raising the funds equal to the price of the trip. If an individual is unable to participate in a Kids & Teens 519 Global Outreach trip, the funds he/she has raised, less incurred expense and administrative fees, will be credited to his/her account for one year____(STTM initials).

In the event of any political, natural or missions-related crisis, Kids & Teens 519 Global Outreach reserves the right to redirect teams to concurrent outreaches in another location, or to cancel the trip. If a trip is canceled for any reason, Kids & Teens 519 Global Outreach reserves the right to reassign team members to another trip of comparable expense at a later date___(STTM initials).

Conduct, dress, and Christian lifestyle for the team are regulated by Kids & Teens 519 Global Outreach. Accepted applicants will receive a detailed explanation of these in their packet of information. It is required that all team members, leaders and staff adhere strictly to Kids & Teens 519 Global Outreach’s policies, and disobedience will result in dismissal, without refund or reimbursement. If dismissed, the individual will be flown home at his or her own expense___ (STTM initials).

Team members, leaders and staff serve at their own risk. Kids and Teens 519 Global Outreach is not liable in the event of sickness, accident, death or terrorist acts or for transportation or any other expense involved with the events listed. But does require trip insurance so part of the expenses are taken care of. The Kids & Teens 519 Global Outreach trips may require intensive physical activity such as hiking, extended walking and strenuous choreography. All participants must be in good physical and mental condition. A physical exam and reference from a doctor may be required___(STTM initials).



A Note to Legal Guardians of Minors on Kids & Teens 519 Global Outreach  Trips

Team Leaders
Depending on your group's travel arrangements, Kids & Teens 519 Global Outreach may appoint your team leader. These leaders are experienced in cross-cultural ministry and will be responsible for the daily process of ministry, schedule, and team organization. Large teams will be broken up into smaller groups, and supervised by co-leaders.

Safety Factors
Safety is a priority for all Kids & Teens 519 Global Outreach teams. Kids & Teens 519 Global Outreach is continually monitoring the conditions of the countries to which we send teams. We check regularly with the Department of State and with our in-country contacts to carefully assess the political and social environment before travel occurs. In the event travel is not advised, teams will be reassigned to a different country or another short term trip___(STTM initials).

Teens are required to be in an approved group of Kids & Teens 519 Global Outreach team leaders or co-leaders, that includes their adult leader, any time they are outside the housing complex. Should a teen leave the housing complex alone, with a under aged minor under 18 , or without specific permission, he or she will be dismissed from the outreach and flown home at his or her own expense___(STTM initials)

Short term trip group members will also not be allowed with the opposite sex alone or with a minor alone for any reason. Definition of alone is being out of sight of their team. Should a member of the team be with a member of the opposite sex alone or with a minor under 18 including nationals we are the guests of he or she will be dismissed from the outreach and flown home at his or her own expense___ (STTM initials).
